Named after Alexandra, Edward VII’s Queen,
the Rose was completely refurbished in 2004,
restoring many of its’ original features back to
their original form. There are now 2 real log fires,
wooden floors & a solid slate bar top.
Ales are served straight from the barrel & are
Cask Marque accredited.
Part of the refurbishment
was to create a 45 cover basement restaurant,
that has plenty of natural light & original features
from when it was the old beer cellar.
The restaurant has a great intimate atmosphere
& a partially open plan kitchen. There is a private
dining room that can seat 16 on one big square
table, ideal for private parties or family Sunday
lunches.
Food is focal to the pub, both downstairs,
in the restaurant & upstairs with the bar menu.
We try to make everything ourselves using
local suppliers to produce menus that
represent good value for money in the
surroundings that they are in.
